Light the barbecue. Summer starts here.

Some summer days begin with a simple question: who is lighting the barbecue?

From there, the kitchen moves outdoors. Someone prepares the salad, someone else sets the table, and there is always a willing volunteer ready to taste the sauce.

This is how we like to cook: with time, flavour and room for the whole family to take part.

This barbecue sauce brings together tomato, honey, smoked paprika and Graduva Grapeseed Oil. It balances sweetness, acidity and a gentle smoky note made for long summer afternoons around the grill.

Graduva Grapeseed Oil has a neutral aroma and mild flavour. It is 100% natural and mechanically cold pressed, allowing the tomato, garlic and spices to lead the recipe.

Summer barbecue sauce

Ingredients

  • 200 g tomato passata
  • 2 tablespoons Graduva Grapeseed Oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 small garlic clove, finely grated
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Place the tomato, vinegar, honey, smoked paprika, garlic and salt in a bowl.

  2. Add the Graduva Grapeseed Oil and whisk until smooth.

  3. Divide the sauce between two bowls. Use one for brushing and keep the other clean for serving.

  4. Grill the meat or vegetables as usual. During the final 2 to 5 minutes, brush on a thin layer of sauce. Turn, brush again and allow the heat to create a glossy coating.

  5. Serve the clean portion at the table.

Because the sauce contains tomato and honey, apply it only during the final minutes of grilling. Direct heat can burn the sauce before the food is ready.

A recipe that brings everyone to the table

Try it with grilled vegetables, chicken or pork ribs. Adjust the honey, add a little more smoked paprika or let someone in the family take charge of tasting.

The bowl usually comes back almost empty. That says enough.
